Gregory Vignal wants to return to France after failing to adapt to life in Germany.
The Lens left-back was loaned to Kaiserslautern in January after struggling to impress coach Francis Gillot early in the season.
But the 26-year-old, who is under contract at Lens until 2010, is looking forward to returning to the Sang et Or in the summer.
"In Kaiserslautern, it is too difficult," Vignal told the French press.
"I am still living at the hotel, my family have gone back to France.
"Moreover, the coach who signed me (Wolfgang Wolf) has left.
"So I will leave Kaiserslautern."
Meanwhile, Lens are among the clubs interested in Sebastien Pocognoli and Danijel Ljuboja.
Genk's promising Belgian Pocognoli is being followed Lens, Monaco and St Etienne and a number of Dutch clubs.
St Etienne and Lens are also rumoured to be interested in Ljuboja, a Serbian international who has struggled in Germany at Stuttgart and Hamburg.
